SPL Computer Club for Seniors and Beginners

Join us occasionally or every week to learn new skills and increase your knowledge of computer applications in both Windows and Apple environments. This term we will review some of your device's basic aspects and complete a series of 'hands-on' projects. Please check out the schedule below and DO come to class with ANY questions or issues you are having with your particular device.

Topic 2: Exploring AI: Chat GPT, GravityWrite, Invideo and much more. What’s New in 2026

Topic 3: Saskatoon Public Library Resources and tools available  online (includes video tutorials on all the digital resources available at SPL)

Topic 4: Web-Based Resources, Applications and tools to make you more productive. (Google Apps, Affinity - Page Layout, Vector Graphics and Photo-Editing Programs, Cloud-based Resources)

Topic 5: Basic computer security: protecting yourself from hackers and viruses using various tools including Ghost VPN. 

Email: reducing spam and organizing email; 10 tips for using your email more effectively

Topic 6: Innovative Web-based Resources and Desktop Apps - Google Earth, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gemini and more on the Macintosh, Windows and iPad (iPhone) and Android systems

Topic 7: Voice Recognition and text-to-speech on Mac, Windows, IOS and Android.

Topic 8: Intermediate Computer Operating Systems - Macintosh vs Windows vs iOS vs Android

Topic 9: Creating Your Own Podcast Using Free Tools like Audacity, RecordPad, Voxal Voice Changer and others. Posting your podcast.
